WHO ARE WE? The Episcopal Youth of Cuba (JEC) is a diocesan organization that represents and accomplishes the ministry of the Episcopal Church of Cuba among the cuban youth. Our global, christian family is the Anglican Communion, and we have -still timid- partnership relationships with youth groups from the dioceses of Niagara Falls, Canada, Florida USA and Uruguay, Province of the Southern Cone. This very website is a product of global support and friendship, being hosted by anglicanos.net, the first all-anglican portal in the hipanic world wide web. |
WHAT DO WE DO? We hold several celebrations throughout the year, the two most important being the Youth Assemby (in March) and the Summer Camps (August). At the local level, we participate from the life of the parishes and archdeaneries, with several groups boasting musical bands and others involved in social projects. A project in the works is a climbing of the Turquino Peak, the highest in the country, by 25 youngsters. The total cost would round the $800 USD, it would last around a week, and include visits to places of historical, religious and natural interest. Donations are welcome. For information on that and other subjects, send us an email. |
WHERE ARE WE? Founded in 1942, JEC has a membership of 230, with 30 local groups and 4 regions for its work and administration. Just as the Episcopal Church of Cuba, JEC is present in every cuban province, excepting Pinar del Río, Granma, Holguín, Sancti Spíritus and the special county of the Isle of Youth. If you are interested in more info about our organization, please send us an email. |
